Hottest Korean drama actor Park Yuchun gave his first China show on Hunan TV Lantern Festival Show tonight. Because of popular dramas like ‘Rooftop Prince’, ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ and ‘Missing You’, Park Yuchun is definitely one of the most popular actors in Korea right now. And in China, he is also extremely popular and this trip to China attracted many fans to gather in Changsha (Hunan). If possible, Park Yuchun said he would like to work with Chinese director Chen Kaige (陈凯歌). “I’ve watched his ‘Farewell My Concubine’ 《霸王别姬》, and recently his work was also released in Korea.” As for Chinese actresses, Park Yuchun said frankly that he knows/recognises Tang Wei and hopes there is a chance to work with her. “But there has to be the right work and the right role.” “It is good if we can work together but it is not about the actor/actress, it is about the work, the roles have to suit both persons.”
As the hottest male actor in Korean dramas, when asked if he watched ‘My Fair Princess’《还珠格格》and ‘Legend of Zhen Huan’《甄嬛传》or other Chinese dramas with high viewer ratings, he smiled and said some dramas have different names when translated in Korean, and so it may not match, but he revealed that he is currently watching a China drama, and when asked which drama, he laughed and said honestly that he has forgotten the name.

Considering Park Yuchun’s busy schedule, Hunan TV for the first time sent a chartered plane to bring him to and fro. Regarding this show, Park Yuchun said frankly that he is nervous but also happy. “At the first rehearsal, I was rather nervous but the Happy Family hosts adjusted the atmosphere very well and I could relax. China MCs are great, although it was late, everyone was still very happy.” About Happily Family’s Du Haitao imitating Yuchun’s sleeping posture, besides getting a lot of attention from netizens, it also made a strong impression on Park Yuchun himself, “Yesterday, I met him for the first time but I didn’t feel like we were strangers at all. Because I saw the pictures in Korea, I felt like he is an old friend.”
2 roles, singer and actor
As an idol singer who successfully became an actor, Park Yuchun wishes to work hard at being a good singer and at the same time, work hard to become a good actor.
“Both have different attractions, so it is very hard to pick one. I became an actor after being a singer, but I feel that being an actor suits me. Just like a habit, being a singer is something very familiar to me; if I don’t sing, I will feel very uncomfortable.
“As a member of JYJ, as a singer, I would like to bring more songs to everyone; as an actor, I want to bring more works, the balance is always very hard. This year, I hope to strike a good balance between the two.”
Recently, Hunan TV bought the rights for the Korean show ‘I Am A Singer’ and was a hot topic. Park Yuchun knows this program well but does not have the courage to go on it: “If there is such a chance to appear on the program, I feel my other 2 team members are more suited for it, because I feel their strength in this is much greater than mine.”
